This decibel meter is quite large, which makes it easy to see, but does take up some space. It also needs to be frequently plugged in via its USB cable to maintain a charge, as the battery depletes quite rapidly, so there are some restrictions to its placement, and makes it more awkward for wall hanging. We've left it plugged in and use the in-built stand to keep it on a surface near a socket. The decibel meter element seems to work pretty well, and an alarm can be set - I've not used this, but have considered using it to train the dog to stop barking, as we now know she can easily tip well over the 100db mark! What I find most useful on a daily basis are the temperature and humidity readings. Both seem to be pretty accurate, as they sit within range of other sensors I have, and it provides easy to see data to inform my decisions on heaters & dehumidifiers to minimise risk of condensation & associated mould, which is an ongoing problem in our Victorian home. Apart from the short battery life, it's a useful thing, though not the most attractive addition to a living space.

LA mesure permanente des décibels est accompagnée d'un pictogramme de petite têt e, souriante, déçu et pas contente en fonction du bruit. Nice boxing, very nice display that can sit on a desk or wall mounted. Set it up at home before taking it to work to see how it worked, set the alarm for 90 decibels (hearing damage can happen at 85). In the house with a TV on low volume it jumps from 30 to 60 as kinda expected (30 is its lowest mark not zero). But then I coughed and it went to 108 decibels and the alarm went off. I moved it to the other side of the room and then my wife coughed and it went to 105 decibels - both times causing the alarm to go off and required you get up and to hit the button on the side to stop the loud beeping. (average cough is supposed to be around 67 decibels). I got my wife to laugh and it showed 107 decibels from across the room (laughter is supposed to be 65 and granting she might be louder BUT 107 ..she would be breaking eardrums all the time). Pretty display, but not accurate at all, alarm goes off in a quiet room even when set at 90 (beyond hearing damage level) and normal conversation happening in the room.
