Very good features, well priced and easy to use. Works with PC over USB, but no Android or iPad connectivity though. Fit of the mic is a little loose, and the wind cover is also too loose and falls off. and it failed to switch off on command a ran down battery on one occasion. So not a bad instrument for the money, but far from perfect.

Not a bad bit of kit if you want to have it connected to a laptop to record sounds. despite having a record button on it. It dose not do stand alone recordings so no good for field work nor can you print the recordings or send the file via email. apart from that the unit is nice to hold and easy to use and not bad the cost.

Couldn’t record unless kept plugged into a laptop also the metre reading jumps around constantly even in silence it went from 40-72 with absolutely no noise at all in the room, the room is a quiet room with sound proofing so that shouldn’t be happening at all, to calibrate you need to purchase a calibration tool seperate too but again when it’s jumping around so high in a silent room it’s no use especially if it’s to use as evidence or provide proof of noises etc so it was sent back, found a great iPhone app for free that also gives a report of noise and it’s proper bang on no messing or jumping db so save money get the app or pay 5.99 get added extras included

Easy to use and set up with software that shows a lot of detail both in numerical and graph formats. Once the meter is connected to the computer and recording started it can be disconnected if required and then reconnected to stop recording and download data. Used for monitoring a Christmas Carnival in a residential area over a five week period. Would be useful to have a Certificate of Conformance supplied - a calibration certificate is very expensive.

June 2022 Update: It still works fine. It was very helpful in easing my concerns that my dogs might be barking while I’m not home. Discovered another FUN use: Thus can be a fun educational ‘game’ for kids (with supervision), such as, how much noise is ‘ambient’ in one area verses another, how loud and nearby a sound has to be to make a difference in the reading (kids can run around the yard making noises on that one), how much noise a basketball bounce makes verses a tennis ball bounce, all sorts of learning ‘games’ can be created around this (with supervision). ORIGINAL 2019 Review: Works great, super easy to use with software. Super easy to download data from device to PC. Super easy to export that downloaded software data to excel. Need to have good vision/wear glasses though to set up or can risk not recording data by mistake. Also if batteries run out no data recording and no warning. Had that happen once too. Using the PC software that comes with device you simply have device plugged in to PC (using enclosed USB cable), choose 'connect' from software menu, and then choose 'parameters' from software menu and set parameters. Parameters means how often it takes a data reading. You can do every 3 seconds if you want. The more time between readings the longer it will log data - and the software lets you know how many hours/days it will log data for based on the seconds between readings. It can log data for more than a day at 15 second intervals between readings. Anyway, you save the parameters while the device is connected choosing manual option in software. Then you choose disconnect menu option in software and you can disconnect meter and then whenever you're ready set it up and make sure the power is on and push the record button. If you chose fifteen seconds you will see REC flash every 15 seconds. When you're ready to stop data readings, turn power off, hook back up to PC using software, choose download data, and it sucks the data off the device. The software menu also has an export to excel option. Super easy. SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENT: Wish there was wireless in device along with an app so I could see device status/data realtime on my phone to make sure all in order/recording. I also like that device has a tripod receiver - I had a flexible Gorillapod tripod already that allows me to place this just about anywhere. Utilisé pour calibrer mon micro de mesure dans smaart ainsi que mon sonomètre. Très bien pour le prix il fait ce qu'on lui demande. Il faut que je trouve une solution pour mon beyer mm1 car la capsule est de diamètre 9mm. Je recommande ce produit pour les techniciens/régisseurs son qui réalisent des mesures. C'est un accessoire à avoir dans sa tool.
